WeatherMark Privacy Policy
WeatherMark Privacy Policy
Effective Date: August 16, 2026
Last Updated: August 16, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how WeatherMark (“WeatherMark,” “the app”) handles information. WeatherMark is developed and provided by SuperDG.
1. Information WeatherMark Handles
WeatherMark does not require an account and does not directly collect your name, email address, Apple Account password, payment-card details, contacts, photos, or message contents.
To provide weather comparison and related features, the app may handle:
- Your current location while you use the app, when location permission is granted
- Locations and points of interest you select through weather search
- Weather data, air-quality data, weather alerts, and previous-day comparison data
- App preferences, widget settings, notification settings, cached weather results, and locally stored location-reference history
- App usage and diagnostic events such as screens viewed, buttons used, weather request success or failure, app version, device type, language or region, and Pro entitlement status
- Aggregated WeatherKit request counts used to monitor service quota
WeatherMark is designed not to send precise coordinates or raw free-form search text as Firebase Analytics event parameters.
2. Location Information
With your permission, WeatherMark uses location information to show weather for your current location, compare today with your relevant previous-day location, update widgets, find nearby place names, and prepare weather notifications.
Location access is requested only through Apple’s permission system. You can change permission at any time in iOS Settings. Location references, recent weather caches, and comparison history may be stored locally on the device or in the app’s shared container for widgets. Weather providers may receive coordinates needed to return weather for the requested place.
3. Weather, Search, and Map Services
WeatherMark may use the following services depending on availability, region, and requested feature:
- Apple WeatherKit for weather forecasts and official provider attribution
- Apple Core Location, geocoding, MapKit, and local search for location names, addresses, landmarks, and points of interest
- Open-Meteo for fallback weather data and air-quality data
- Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service (CAMS) data made available through the air-quality provider
- Korea Meteorological Administration public data for weather warnings in Korea
These providers process requests according to their own privacy policies and terms.
4. Analytics and Firebase
WeatherMark uses Google Firebase Analytics to understand app usage and improve reliability and user experience. Analytics may include app-instance identifiers, device and operating-system information, approximate region, screen views, feature interactions, weather-provider status, purchase-flow events, and crash or performance-related technical information made available by the service.
WeatherMark also uses Firebase Firestore to store aggregated WeatherKit usage counters for quota monitoring. These counters are not intended to contain a user account, precise coordinates, or raw location-search text.
Firebase may process technical data, including IP address and app-instance information, according to Google’s privacy policy. WeatherMark does not sell personal information and does not use precise location history for targeted advertising.
5. Local Storage and Widgets
The app may store weather caches, selected-location information, previous-day comparison references, usage counters, preferences, and notification state locally using Apple-provided storage. Information needed by WeatherMark widgets may be shared with the widget extension through an Apple App Group container.
This local data generally remains until it expires, is replaced, is removed through app controls, or the app and its associated data are deleted.
6. Notifications
If you grant notification permission, WeatherMark may provide smart weather summaries, precipitation changes, temperature changes, air-quality notices, and official weather-warning information. Notification preferences and scheduling information may be stored locally. You can disable notifications in iOS Settings at any time.
7. Purchases and Subscriptions
WeatherMark Pro subscriptions and lifetime purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store and StoreKit. SuperDG does not receive or store your full Apple Account credentials or payment-card details. The app receives only the purchase and entitlement information necessary to enable Pro features, restore purchases, and measure purchase-flow status.
8. Advertising and Tracking
The current app does not sell personal information. If an advertising service or a new tracking practice is added in a future version, WeatherMark will update this policy and the App Store privacy disclosures before that practice is used.
9. Data Sharing
WeatherMark shares or transmits information only as needed to provide app functions through the service providers described above, comply with legal obligations, protect users and the service, or respond to a valid legal request. SuperDG does not rent or sell users’ personal information.
10. Data Retention and Deletion
Local app information remains on your device until it expires, is replaced, is reset, or the app is deleted. Aggregated analytics and service-usage data may be retained by Firebase according to configured retention settings and Google’s policies.
You may remove local WeatherMark data by deleting the app. You may also manage location and notification permissions in iOS Settings. For questions or requests relating to information handled by SuperDG, use the contact information below.
11. Children’s Privacy
WeatherMark is not directed to children under the minimum age required by applicable law, and SuperDG does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact SuperDG.
12. Security
SuperDG uses reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect information handled by WeatherMark. However, no electronic transmission or storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
13. Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated when WeatherMark’s features, service providers, or legal obligations change. The updated policy will be posted on this page with a revised “Last Updated” date.
